I told you about our first motorcycle experience in vintage clothing in Aprica. It had been an opportunity to show off the new polka dot skirt, as well as shoes, bag and blue hat👒, the whole ensemble..

I worked on the skirt with a friend of my grandma, a really lovely lady who works so quickly that make any idea of ​​taking step-by-step photos for a tutorial pure illusion..😀

The model is symilar to the one I used for the butterfly skirt but this time we use double fabric and we put a waistband instead of an elastic band. Also the choose of fabric made this skist much more ‘aflutter’. As for the butterfly we want to make a long skirt so we used all the high of the fabric, this is why we bought twice the high of the fabric (…maybe this is a really Italian way to explain the concept but I think it is clear enought😀 ).

To create the folds in a regular way we made a machine sew with really long stitches than pulled the treath creating folds. It was a really good trick 😉

Cosa succede quando cerchi di fare un po’ di ordine nel computer? Succede che tra le altre cose trovi post che avevi iniziato a scrivere ma mai finito e quindi, mai pubblicato. Succede che trovi post come questo.

Vi avevo parlato del nostro primo motoraduno 🛵 in abbigliamento d’epoca👒🎩 in Aprica ⛰️. Era stata l’occasione per sfoggiare la nuova gonna a pois, oltre a scarpe , borsa e cappello blu, insomma tutto l’insieme 😀

Ho realizzato la gonna con l’aiuto di un’amica di mia nonna, una signora adorabile che lavora così velocemente che qualsiasi idea di realizzare delle foto passo passo si è rivelata subito pura illusione.

Il modello è simile a quello usato per la gonna con le farfalle solo che questa volta ho raddoppiato l’ampiezza della ruota ed applicato la cintura in vita (anziché l’elastico) inoltre la stoffa scelta ha fatto si che l’effetto finale fosse molto più ‘svolazzante’ (anche se il vero segreto è sempre il sotto-gonna).

Come per la gonna a farfalle anche in questo caso volevamo avere la lunghezza massima consentita dalla stoffa, più lunga è maggiore è il raggio della ruota. Per questo motivo abbiamo usato una stoffa che fosse due volte l’altezza.

Per creare l’arricciatura in vita in modo regolare abbiamo fatto una cucitura a macchina lasciando i punti molto lunghi, abbiamo poi tirato i fili facendo in modo che la stoffa si arricciasse, a questo punto abbiamo potuto distribuire l’arricciatura come volevamo. Insomma, ho imparato un trucco nuovo 😉 .

Da quella prima uscita la gonna a pois ha fatto qualche altra comparsata, negli anni successivi.
