Here we are again writing about the attic… But also a little about the study! +++ Trovate la versione in Italiano sotto 🇮🇹+++

While writing the post on the attic renovation I realized how many photos I had taken. I have so many photos about the initial room and then about the renovation process that it has taken me days to select the ones for the blog.

Of the many photos I had several focused on the cupboards.

In fact, it was here that we laid the foundations for the work we done in the study. Here, during the lockdown, we started using everything we had in the house, remains of previous works and pieces of drywall left over from the attic ceiling, to make cupboards… And we loved it!

The initial inspiration come from this hollow we had in a corner which we decided to turn into a wardrobe, adapting two old wooden shutters found at a market as doors. Does it remind you of anything? Exactly! The same combination used for the study.

I find them beautiful! They combine old and new, the warm of wood and the clean white of the drywall. They are large and spacious. They are everything a wardrobe should be!

After this first experience we also tried to create an open piece of furniture along the balustrade of the staircase. The balustrade was too short, I found it dangerous, now in front of it there is a beautiful piece of furniture that contains (almost) all my fabrics and on which succulents are placed in winter. Great satisfactions!

Rieccoci a parlare di mansarda! Ma in realtà non solo, anche un po’ di cameretta!

Mentre scrivevo il post sulla mansarda mi sono resa conto di quante foto avessi del prima e del durante. Non sono stata in grado di trovarne invece di attuali degne di pubblicazione, tant’è vero che le ho dovute fare apposta ritardando moltissimo la data di messa online del post.
Tra le moltissime foto che avevo del durante parecchie si concentravano sulle scaffalature e sugli armadi.

E’ stato qui infatti che abbiamo messo le basi per il lavoro poi fatto nella cameretta. Qui, durante il lockdown abbiamo iniziato ad utilizzare tutto quello che avevamo in casa, resti di lavori precedenti e soprattutto pezzi di cartongesso avanzati dal soffitto della mansarda, per provare a fare degli armadi a vista. Alla fine direi che ci abbiamo preso gusto 😊

Lo spunto iniziale è arrivato da questa nicchia in un angolo, praticamente inutilizzata, che abbiamo deciso di trasformare in armadio, adattando all’apertura due vecchi scuri in legno trovati ad un mercatino. Vi ricorda qualcosa? Esatto! Esattamente la stessa combinazione usata per la cameretta.
Li trovo bellissimi! Mettono insieme vecchio e nuovo, il legno caldo ed il bianco pulito della muratura. Sono grandi e spaziosi. Sono tutto quello che un armadio dovrebbe essere!

In un secondo momento, presi dal sacro fuoco dell’arredamento a costo zero, abbiamo realizzato anche un mobile aperto lungo la balaustra della scala. La balaustra era troppo bassa, la trovavo pericolosa, ore davanti c’è un bel mobile che contiene (quasi 😊 ) tutte le mie stoffe e su cui in inverno trovano posto le piante grasse. Grandi soddisfazioni!
