A super cute present for big and small one in just five simple steps, plus one!
Un regalo carino carino per grandi e piccini. In cinque passaggi più uno 🙂

What we need: Fabric (all the colours and design you like), basic sewing kit, templates, needle and threade for embroidery , stuffing (different from each piece)

Cosa Ci serve: Stoffa (potete associare tutti i colori e le fantasie che volete), Kit da cucito, cartamodello, ago e filo da ricamo, imbottiture (diverse per ogni pezzo).

Step one: choose fabrics, designs and stuffing.

I’ve choosen these lovely animal shapes (you can find the link to download them here) and some cute cotton fabrics. For the stuffing I’ve used a different material for each animal: wadding, foam rubber, polystyrene (the small pieces used for packaging), cello shreds, cherry seeds. The different consistency and texture made these animals a lovely toy for baby ones. Plus, cherry seeds keep warm or cold and they are great for little bruises, headaches or just as a ‘hotty things’ in winter.
With different stuffing, sand or small seeds, you will have a lovely anti stress toys for the big ones 🙂

Nel mio caso i modelli sono quelli che vi avevo presentato tempo fa, la stoffa è cotone in varie fantasie mentre le imbottiture sono 5 differenti, una per ogni animale. Abbiamo: ovatta, gommapiuma, polistirolo (quello usato per gli imballaggi), paglietta sintetica e semi di ciliegio.
Le diverse imbottiture con le diverse consistenze e suoni, diventano uno strumento utile allo sviluppo dei sensi nei bimbi piccoli. In più i semi di ciliegio possono essere scaldati al microonde o raffreddati in freezer ed usati per piccoli malesseri o contusioni.
Cambiando imbottitura usando sabbia o semi di varie dimensioni si ottengono invece degli anti stress apprezzatissimi dai più grandi 🙂

Step two:  draw and cut.

Paying attention to the sides of your fabrics draw right and back side of each animal and cut them out.

Facendo attenzione al verso della stoffa disegnate fronte e retro dei vostri animali e ritagliate.

Step three: decorate.

If you want to decorate your animals, do it now. It will be more easy. You can use appliqué or embroidery.

Se volete decorare le forme con qualche appliqué o ricamo fatelo ora, prima di cucire ed imbottire, risulterà tutto molto più semplice.

Step Four: sew.

Pin tougether the front and back side of your animals, right side to right side and sew all around. Leave a hole to reverse and fill. Reverse your animal and check if all the seams are fine. Maybe you will made a second seam to be sure 😉

Fissate con gli spilli i due lato dei vostri animali, dritto contro dritto, cucite tutto attorno lasciando un’apertura per risvoltare e riempire. Trattandosi di giochi per bambini io ho fatto due cuciture lungo tutto il bordo per essere sicura che la stoffa non cedesse. Risvoltate e verificate che tutto sia cucito correttamente.

Step Five: fill and close.

Fill your animals with the stuffing you prefer and close the hole. Done!

Riempite i vosrti animali con l’imbottitura che preferite e chiudete le aperture con dei punti fitti. Fatto!

Now if you want you can add a last step: packaging. In my case, I’ve put all my animals in a fabric bag.

Ora se volete potete aggiungere un ultimo passaggio, confezionare i vostri giochi. Non lo dico neanche che io ho optato per un sacchetto di stoffa ❤
