Another super soft project to complete the last week set: the star shape baby wrap!

I found this model during one of my anti stress pinning session, love them! From Pinterest I discovered the website of the author Fab Art DIY  where you can find some tips on the realization and also the link to an online store where you can buy the baby wraps.

Even if my project is not exactly the same as the one you can find online I will not make a tutorial based on someone else’s work, I think this is not nice 🙂 so I will not explain all the passages but I will describe some changes I’ve made on the original project.

The baby wrap will complete the last week set so to coordinate it with the blanket I’ve decided to use a binding even if I choosed to make it in just one colour.
Before put together the wrap I made the binding on the hat and on the two frontal parts the ones that overlap.

A little tip, if you want to try to make the star baby wrap before sew it make sure to have put all the pieces in the right order.

I also add some laces on the front of the baby wrap to better close it. I thought that my version was quite too open.
A friend of mine suggest to add a zip instead of laces, the zip has to close from the top to the bottom of the wrap in this way it will be much difficult for a baby to open it. The next time I will try this way 🙂

For the presentation I fold it and roll it on itself then fix with a ribbon in a different colours. What do you think, isn’i it nice?

Un altro progetto super soft da accompagnare al set della scorsa settimana: la tutina stella!

Era tanto che volevo provare a realizzare questo modello e il famoso pile dello scorso post (ebbene si, ne avevo ancora) mi è sembrato perfetto!

La prima cosa da dire è che questo progetto non è mio ma nasce da una delle mie sessioni di pinning anti stress. Da Pinterest sono poi risalita al sito dell’autore Fab Art DIY dove potete trovare alcune indicazioni utili alla realizzazione ed il link ad uno store online su cui potete acquistare le sue tutine a stella.

Anche se la mia risulta molto diversa da quella che trovate disponibile online non mi sembrava corretto realizzare un tutorial basato sul lavoro di altri, non riporterò quindi qui i passaggi per la realizzazione ma vi descriverò solo alcune modifiche che ho apportato al progetto originale.

La tutina andrà a completare il set di cui vi ho parlato settimana scorsa  per coordinarla alla coperta ho quindi deciso di profilarla, anche se in questo caso ho optato per un solo colore. Prima di comporre la tuta ho quindi rifinito la parte alta che farà da berrettina e le due ali frontali che si sovrappongono.

Un consiglio, se volete provare a realizzare la stella prima di cucire verificate che ogni parte sia posizionata correttamente rispetto alle altre, magari imbastite il tutto e risvoltate prima di finalizzare.

Oltre al profilo ho anche aggiunto due laccetti per chiudere la pettorina sul davanti, mi sembrava infatti che la mia versione risultasse troppo aperta.

Un’amica mi ha suggerito di provare ad inserire una cerniera come chiusura ma di posizionarla in modo che si chiuda verso il basso e non verso l’alto, per rendere più difficile l’apertura da parte dei bambini. La prossima provo a farla così :­)

Per presentarla l’ho piegata, arrotolata su se stessa e fermata con un cordone di colore a contrasto abbellito da due perline. Che ne dite?
