The first sewing project for the new house: sweater pillowcase

So, not a big project I know but, nice and simple as we love: recycle your lovely old sweater in a super soft, super cool pillowcase.

When you move from a house to another, or when you clean your wardrobe for the new season, if you are like me (I simply cannot throw anything away..) you would found a lot of old cloths you are not wearing. This is the photo- story of of one of that cloths: my husband white sweater. A lovely cotton sweater that he never used. So, time for a change!

What we need: pillow, old sweater, zipper

1: revers your sweater, insert the pillow and measure it.

2: drow a sign on the upper edge.

3: sew the sweater on the sign.

4: sew the zipper on the bottom edge

5: cut off the exceded

6: refine the upper edge with a zig-zag.

7: reverse and fill.

8: Done!

Il primo progetto di cucito per la nuova casa, niente di complicato, anzi, uno di quei progetti da pomeriggio che prendono poco tempo ma danno grande soddisfazione, come trasformare un vecchio maglione in un cuscino originale e molto decorativo.

Durante i traslochi, o anche solo durante il cambio dell’armadio se siete come me (geneticamente incapace di gettare alcunché..) vi capiterà di trovare enormi quantità di cose che non mettete ma che non riuscite a buttare via. Questa è la foto storia del maglione di cotone di mio marito (..un bel maglione che non ricordo di avergli mai visto addosso) e del come è diventato un comodissimo cuscino 🙂
