The 9th of June we had the second edition of Belle Èpoque taking place in Colico on the Como Lake. As you know this is “our gathering”.

I take the liberty of calling it “our gathering” knowing that the Club won’t be too upset because Belle Èpoque was born from our proposal, which is why, despite the invaluable support of the Club members, the entire organizational phase falls on our shoulders.

Our idea, our gifts, our prizes, our registration management, our relationships with participants, with the proloco, with the restaurant…
In short, anyone who has tried to organize something knows this: it is not easy and even if you try to predict everything… you can never predict everything…

Despite the hitches, the unstable weather, the last-minute withdrawals, the last-second additions, the changes, the modifications and the misunderstandings. Despite the tensions for the time and energy that this work (which is not our work) has taken from us, despite everything, we are happy with what we have managed to do.

We are happy with the enthusiasm we have found in the participants and the public.

Below you will find a summary of what has been. We are already working on the next Edition!

Belle Èpoque in images:

The vehicles: two, three or four wheels. This year we have expanded to bicycles and had the participation of some very particular Lambrettas.

The People: without the people who put themselves on the line, without the research in clothing and detail, Belle Èpoque would not be what it is: a dive into the past, a day from another time.

The music: the live presence of Manoucherie is priceless.

The Lake: a beautiful setting, magical photos and footage.

The Prizes: the pencil drawing that Katia Mercuri made for us in particular, but also the gifts for the ladies were not bad at all..

Vi avevo promesso che vi avrei raccontato il perché della mia latitanza (non che sia una novità, ogni tanto latito, si sa.. )

Il 9 giugno a Colico, sul lago di Como, si è tenuta la seconda edizione di Belle Èpoque il “nostro” raduno.

Mi permetto di definirlo “il nostro raduno” sapendo che al Club non se la prenderanno troppo perché Belle Èpoque nasce da una nostra proposta, motivo per cui, seppur con l’impagabile sostegno dei soci del Club, tutta la fase organizzativa ricade sulle nostre spalle.

Nostra l’idea, nostri gli omaggi, nostri i premi, nostra la gestione iscrizioni, i rapporti con i partecipanti, con la proloco, con il ristorante..
Insomma, chi ha provato ad organizzare qualcosa lo sa, non è facile e anche se si prova a prevedere tutto.. tutto non si può mai prevedere..

Nonostante gli intoppi, il tempo ballerino, i ritiri dell’ultimo minuto, le aggiunte dell’ultimo secondo, i cambi, le modifiche e le incomprensioni. Nonostante le tensioni per il tempo e le energie che questo lavoro (che non è il nostro lavoro) ci ha sottratto, nonostante tutto, siamo contenti di quello che siamo riusciti a fare.

Siamo felici dell’entusiasmo che abbiamo riscontrato nei partecipanti e nel pubblico.

Belle Èpoque in immagini:

I mezzi: due tre o quattro ruote. Quest’anno abbiamo allargato alle biciclette e avuto la partecipazione di lambrette al quanto particolari.

Le persone: senza le persone che si mettono in gioco, senza la ricerca nell’abbigliamento e nel dettaglio, Belle Èpoque non sarebbe quello che è: un tuffo nel passato, una giornata d’altri tempi.

La musica: impagabile la presenza live del Manoucherie.

Il Lago: un contesto bellissimo, foto e riprese magiche.

I Premi: il disegno a matita che Katia Mercuri ha fatto per noi in particolare, ma anche gli omaggi per le signore non erano affatto male..
