Some posts ago I’ve wrote about Nicolis Museum of Villafranca di Verona and I mentioned “Viaggio nel Tempo” an event that take place in September at the Sigurtà Garden Park.

We weren’t able to attend this year, but last year we had a blast. The park is huge and truly beautiful and well-maintained (you can rent electric golf carts to explore it in its entirety), and during this event it fills with participants in period costume. Ladies and gentlemen appear from every avenue, and women in 19th-century dresses play or drink tea on the grass like in a Monet painting.

If you love a romantic, Jane Austen-esque atmosphere, or want to experience the thrill of a carriage ride, this is the day for you. Entrance for extras is discounted, and the day is truly magical… and we couldn’t help but be there!

If, like us, you have a passion for art deco, I recommend you stop by Caffè Fantoni in Villafranca di Verona where time seems to have stopped. We went there wearing appropriate clothing.

Alcuni post fa vi ho parlato del Museo Nicolis di Villafranca di Verona e ho accennato a “Viaggio nel Tempo” una manifestazione che si tiene a Settembre all’interno del Parco Giardinio Sigurtà.

Quest’anno non siamo riusciti a partecipare ma lo scorso anno ci siamo divertiti moltissimo. Il parco è immenso e veramente molto bello e ben tenuto (per vederlo interamente si possono affittare dei golf cart elettrici) e durante questa manifestazione si riempie di figuranti in abbigliamento d’epoca. Dame e gentiluomini compaiono da ogni viale, signore con abiti ottocenteschi giocano o prendono un tea sull’erba come in un quadro di Monet.

Se amate le atmosfere romantiche, alla Jane Austen o se volete provare l’ebrezza di un giro in carrozza questa è la vostra giornata. L’ingresso per i figuranti è scontato e la giornata è veramente magica.. e noi, non potevamo non partecipare!

Se poi, come noi, avete una passione per l’art deco’ vi consiglio di passare dal Caffè Fantoni a Villafranca di Verona dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato.. Noi ci siamo passati con un abbigliamento adatto 😉
