This year, Genoa hosted the 13th edition of Euroflora, the flower show founded in 1966 and held every five years. I had fond memories of it, so I asked my mom if she wanted to go, and we got tickets. I don’t want to get into the details; I imagine some people enjoyed this edition too, but we simply didn’t. Too many people, too many installations with plants and flowers “in distress,” not the kind of experience I remembered and that we enjoy. So I decided we’d do it again! Over the course of the year, we went to three exhibitions, all small and medium-sized, well-curated, elegant, and charming.

Three moments of beauty! Whether perennials or bulbs, succulents or aromatics, whether vegetable or flower gardens, they were all beautiful and well-kept, and the exhibitors were kind and helpful. Three moments of outdoor respite in splendid settings.

Orticola at the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens in Milan, Horti Aperti in Pavia at the Horti del Collegio Borromeo and Orticolario at Villa Erba in Como.

Of the three Horti Aperti, this is the most recent, but it is full of very interesting conferences and lectures. The exhibition and sales area is not very large, but the businesses present are interesting and the growth potential is excellent.

Orticola is concentrated but very interesting, with many very specific nurserymen and then very elegant objects and decorations.

Orticolario boasts an absolutely stunning location, the gardens of Villa Erba overlooking Lake Como. And here too, the beauty of the exhibitors and installations is definitely worth a visit.

Quest’anno a Genova si è tenuta la 13esima edizione di Euroflora la rassegna floreale nata nel 1966 e che si tiene ogni 5 anni. Ne avevo un bellissimo ricordo così ho chiesto a mia mamma se le andava di andare e abbiamo preso i biglietti. Non voglio entrare nel merito, immagino che a qualcuno sia piaciuta anche questa edizione ma ecco, a noi semplicemente, no. Troppa gente, troppe installazioni con piante e fiori “in affanno” non il genere di esperienza che ricordavo e che ci piace.. Così ho deciso che ci saremmo rifatte! Durante l’anno siamo state a 3 mostre, più o meno piccole, curate, eleganti, gentili.

Tre momenti di bellezza! Che siano perenni o bulbose, piante grasse o aromatiche, che si parlasse di orti o giardini tutte erano belle e curate, gli espositori gentili e disponibili. Tre momenti di “respiro” all’aperto in contesti splendidi.

Orticola ai Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli a Milano, Horti Aperti a Pavia presso gli Horti del Collegio Borromeo e Orticolario a Villa Erba a Como.

Dei tre Horti Aperti è il più recente, ma è ricco di convegni e letture molto interessanti, l’area espositiva e di vendita non è vastissima ma le realtà presenti sono interessanti ed il potenziale di crescita ottimo.

Orticola è concentrato ma molto interessante, moltissimi vivaisti anche molto specifici e poi oggettistica, decorazione, molto elegante.

Orticolario si fregia di una location assolutamente splendida, i giardini di Villa Erba che si affacciano sul Lago di Como. E anche qui la bellezza di espositori e installazioni merita assolutamente una visita.
