My love for the mountains is nothing new, nor is my appreciation for Swiss order and care, so it is no surprise that this summer we took a short but very scenic trip to the Canton of Graubünden.

From Chiavenna, Spluga Pass, stop at the Viamala gorge and then towards Chur, all on the state road, a beautiful route between mountains, river and lakes.

Final destination the town of Arosa. Small winter tourist resort. In summer a paradise of trails with the possibility, for those who want, to go up by cable car or chair lift. Frequented by bike lovers and anyone looking for a beautiful place, where you can feel pampered even at 2700 meters.

If you also chose a small, well-kept hotel, with a wonderful view of the mountains, just a stone’s throw from the start of the trails and with a chef who could be Italian :-). What more could you want.

For example, you can visit a rescue center for bears freed from captivity, see them moving curiously among the trees and photograph them from afar while discovering, once again, how small humans can be in the face of nature.

Il mio amore per la montagna non è una novità, il mio apprezzamento per ordine e cura Svizzeri nemmeno, niente da stupirsi quindi che questa estate si sia intrapreso un viaggio, breve ma molto panoramico nel Canton Grigione.

Da Chiavenna passo dello Spluga, sosta sulla gola di Viamala e poi direzione Coira tutta su strada statale, un percorso bellissimo tra montagne, fiume e laghi.

Meta finale il paese di Arosa. Piccola località turistica invernale. In estate un paradiso di sentieri con la possibilità, per chi vuole, di risalite in funivia o seggiovia. Frequentata dagli amanti della bici e da chiunque cerchi un posto bello, dove sentirsi coccolati anche a 2700 metri.

Se in più avete scelto un albergo piccolo, curatissimo, con una vista stupenda sulle montagne, ad un passo dall’imbocco dei sentieri e con un cuoco che potrebbe essere italiano :-). Ma cosa si può volere di più.

Si può ad esempio visitare un centro di recupero per orsi liberati dalla cattività,  vederli muovere curiosi tra gli alberi e fotografarli da lontano mentre scopri, ancora una volta, quanto possono essere piccoli gli uomini di fronte alla natura.
